Introducing The MigRise Podcast Series
The podcast sets the tone of the MigRise podcast series. This introduction will help our listeners understand the context of the MigRise Climate Academy and the importance of our work.
MIGRISE PODCAST SERIES · SEASON 01
The MigRise Podcast Series aims to raise awareness of climate justice among migrant, Black, and People of Colour youth (MBPY). It is a space where MBPY lead the conversation, voice their concerns, and challenge the status quo around climate belonging. The series also seeks to dismantle the myth that migrants are not interested in climate justice.
Through this series, we hope to create and strengthen spaces for diverse climate justice activists and enhance the participation of migrants in the climate justice movement in Germany and across Europe.

The MigRise Podcast Series, “Young Voices, Real Talk”, is produced by BreachBuilders e.V. as part of the MigRise Climate Academy. Each episode is a conversation about climate justice between a young host from the Academy community and a guest from research, activism, health, conservation, film or policy.
Season 1 moves from the legacy of colonialism in Togo and the fight for rights in the Amazon, to youth negotiators at COP29, climate-driven malnutrition, community-led conservation and the story of Iran’s brain drain.
The question stays the same throughout: who pays the price of the climate crisis, and who is responsible for fixing it?
