The Role of Film and Film Festivals in the Fight for Climate Justice

Film has long entertained and educated the masses, making it a powerful tool in the climate justice fight. Since the 2010s, climate justice films and film festivals have been on the rise. In this episode, we explore Catriona’s journey to becoming a film festival curator, what curation entails, and the challenges film festivals and filmmakers in this niche face, among other things. Through the discussion, we aim to raise awareness of the importance of making and showcasing these stories, since climate change impacts 85% of the world's population and 80% of the global land area. Through films and film festivals, more people can learn not only about issues happening far and wide, but also how to get involved in the fight/movement.
