In February the African Union adopted the Convention on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (CEVAWG) a historic first as a legally binding treaty on VAWG for the continent. But naming violence is not the same as protecting survivors. Although the Convention references violence in cyberspace domain it does not create legal obligations to address technology-facilitated GBV. We stand with the #PauseForPurpose campaign to pause reflect and strengthen it.
